Hello Grant Community,
My name is Michelle Gallegos, and I am pleased to begin my fourth year as your associate principal. Over the past three years, I have been incredibly proud of the work we’ve accomplished together and the relationships I’ve been fortunate to build with our staff, learners, and families.
Prior to joining Grant, I spent ten years as a teacher, the majority of which was spent in 6th grade. Most recently, I taught at Feaster Charter School in the Chula Vista Elementary School District. As an educator, I always actively sought out leadership roles—including serving as a grade-level lead, a member of our Instructional Leadership Team, and helping to rewrite our school charter.
This year, I am especially excited to focus on our middle school as we transition into our Interim Site. Change brings new opportunities, and I am fully committed to creating a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for all of our learners during this move.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time being a mom to my two boys, William (6) and Nicolas (4). I am thrilled to share that both of them will officially be Grant Geckos this year! When we aren't at school, my husband and I love traveling and making lifelong memories with our boys.
I truly appreciate the partnership between families and our school, and I believe in open and clear communication.
